#Atlanta&Surroundings - Day 5

I festival. O li ami o li odi. O sei uno di quelli che piazza tenda e asciugamani e non si muove più o sei uno che corre da un palco all'altro per essere sempre in prima fila. È sempre un'esperienza unica e speciale. Secondo festival negli States per me ma il primo di genere rock. Si respirava Woodstock, davvero.

Music festivals. You love them or you hate them. Some people stays sitting down in the same place all day, some people run back and forward to be always under stage. It's always a unique and special experience. This is my second festival in the States but the first one rock. I felt like I was at Woodstock '68, I'm not exaggerating.

French People Love Abbreviations : P.A.D.

P.A.D., Paris Art Design, è così che la chiamano i parigini, con un'altra sigla.

Sì, perché ne vanno proprio matti. Tutto ha sigle e tutto è siglabile.

Una mostra temporanea che c'è ogni anno a cavallo tra marzo e aprile, quest'anno dal 27 al 1, e che viene installata in un luogo d'eccezione : i Jardins des Tuileries. 

Si tratta di un esposizione di pezzi unici d'arte e mobili di design, anche piuttosto datati.

A temporary exhibit that is set up at Jardins des Tuileries every year at the end of March, this time from March 27 to April 1.

It's all about unique works of art and design furniture, sometimes even very old.

Erasmus (e non) Non Ci Stanno. Ieri Seggi Simbolici a Parigi.

L'Italia è uno dei pochi Paesi in Europa a non utilizzare il voto per corrispondenza anche per chi risiede temporaneamente in un Paese diverso. 

L'art. 2 del D.L. 223/12, convertito con modificazioni dalla l. 31 dicembre 2012 n. 232, approvato in seguito alle dimissioni del Presidente del Consiglio e dello scioglimento delle Camere, ha convocato le elezioni politiche per il 24 e 25 febbraio, chiarendo all'art. 2 quali categorie di cittadini italiani residenti all'estero avranno la possibilità di votare tramite corrispondenza. Sono compresi, personale delle forze armate, agenti di polizia, professori e ricercatori universitari, non vi è però traccia degli studenti universitari in Erasmus e i lavoratori temporanei all'estero. 

Ieri pomeriggio, dalle 12h alle 16h, nemmeno il gelo polare ha fermato i seggi simbolici organizzati dai ragazzi Erasmus, au pair e lavoratori temporanei a Parigi (ed in molte altre città d'Europa) che hanno ottenuto una discreta affluenza. Nonostante la scritta "Fac-simile", stampata a caratteri cubitali sulle schede elettorali, ci ricordasse quanto vale il nostro parere, NOI non ci siamo arresi e siamo andati a votare lo stesso.

I like reading Grazia from time immemorial, I really mean it, indeed I did a power-point in my Marketing class here in Paris about the incredible success of Grazia France in the last 2-3 years.

Obviously I couldn't let this opportunity go. So, I'll try.

Because I love news report.

Since I was a little girl I used to keep a daily journal, then I open my first awful blog in middle school, I start this blog from necessity of communication 6 years ago, and now I'm doing it just for my own entertainment no duty no need.

Because I have lots of ideas.

And somehow I have to let them out.

Because I study Marketing.

I love what I'm doing and "take care" of a blog is an inspiring starting point.

Because I'm always looking for new challenges.

in questo periodo Grazia.it offre la possibilità a dei blogger qualunque di diventare degli 
IT blogger ed entrare nel gruppo di reporter internauti per le diverse categorie proposte (Fashion, Beauty, Design, Food, Life Style).
La rivista Grazia mi piace da sempre, davvero davvero, anche da prima di iniziare a scrivere su Livin'+Abroad, infatti neanche un mese fa qui a Parigi ho fatto un 
exposé ( [ɛkspoze] esposizione, presentazione ) proprio sull'incredibile successo di Grazia France negli ultimi 2-3 anni.
Io, ovviamente, che non mi lascio mai sfuggire queste occasioni, ci provo.
Perché mi piace il reportage. 
Già dalla tenera età ero solita tenere un diario quotidiano, poi il primo blog cretino quando ero alle medie, poi 6 anni fa ho aperto questo blog, un po' per caso un po' per esigenza di comunicazione, ed oggi nessun obbligo nessuna esigenza ma solo un sacco di divertimento.
Perché ho un sacco di idee. 
Ed in qualche modo le devo liberare.
Perché studio marketing. 
Questo mondo mi affascina e "prendersi cura" di un blog trovo che sia un ottimo punto di partenza.
Perché cerco sempre nuove sfide.
Perché mi piace parlare. 
Sono un'instancabile chiaccherona.

Ma soprattutto, mi piace parlare di ciò che amo.

Mi propongo infatti per la sezione Life Style, dove si parla di tendenze, personalità, musica, eventi, cinema, turismo; argomenti con la quale mi trovo particolarmente a mio agio.

It's the only thing you got to know to imagine of being there.
Nope, it isn't true: there's much more.
But, for sure, I spent a lot of time watching the awkward people who were there.

Ma, di sicuro, ha occupato buona parte della serata osservare i bizzarri esemplari di umani presenti al Festival.

Yummy, Salon Du Chocolat

I didn't talk about the weekend I spent with my aunt here a couple of weeks ago.

Friday November, 2 we went to the Chocolate Fair.

It seemed Wonderland.

Or either Land of Toys.

It was missing only The Hatter and the donkeys' boys.

Why I went to see it?

What kind of question is that?

I'm a girl and I love chocolate: winning mix.

Scrivo con un po' di ritardo a proposito del weekend dei Santi che ho passato con mia zia.

Venerdì 2 novembre abbiamo visto il Salone del Cioccolato.

Pareva il paese delle meraviglie.

O quello dei balocchi.

Mancavano solo il cappellaio matto e i bambini trasformati in asini.

Perché l'ho visto?

Che razza di domanda è?

Sono femmina e amo il cioccolato: una combo vincente.

I Found A House In Paris: What A Stressful Challenge!

Hello everybody, find a low-rent house in Paris is kinda impossible and the bureaucracy doesn't help at all because it's pretty strict. Being an Erasmus it doesn't help as well and let's not even start talking about that I'm Italian. Stressful, demoralizing and exhausting: these words describe at best how it makes you feel looking for a house to rent here in Paris. Below there are some advices...

Ciao a tutti, trovare casa a Parigi è più o meno impossibile e la burocrazia non aiuta per niente considerando che è super rigorosa. Essere un Erasmus si aggiunge alla -già lunga- lista di impedimenti per ottenere una casa e non parliamo del fatto che sono italiana -nazionalità non proprio riconosciuta come il massimo dell'educazione all'estero, sigh-. Stressata, demoralizzata ed estenuata sono le tre parole che meglio descrivono come mi son sentita a cercar casa qui a Parigi e non sono un caso isolato. 
Ecco qui di seguito qualche consiglio...

First Impressions...& Vlog News #1

Bonjour, only 20 days have passed by and it seems two months to me. 

There is a lot to say about Paris and Parisians -weirdos-. 

It's a melting-pot city and this feature appears also in its neighborhoods, called arrondissement. 

Being an Erasmus here sometimes it may be a very positive thing but some other times it's a huge obstacle -mostly for house searching-.

I met tons of people and I had many exchanges of view that widen my ideas. It was a long time that didn't happen, it made me think a lot -at last you'd say-.

Bonjour, sono passati solo 20 giorni ma a me sembra di essere qua da due mesi almeno.

C'è molto da dire su Parigi e sui parigini -strambi forte-.

La città è un misto di gente e di culture e questa sua caratteristica si può notare anche nei suoi quartieri, chiamati arrondissement -lo sanno tutti e son ripetitiva, lo so, ma la frase fatta da guida turistica non poteva mancare-.

Essere qui in Erasmus può essere molto divertente ma a volte può essere un grosso ostacolo -soprattutto nella ricerca della casa-. Ne parlo meglio nel prossimo post.

Ho incontrato vagonate di persone e ho avuto molti confronti che mi hanno permesso di aprire la mia mente a nuove -e inaspettate- idee. Era molto tempo che non succedeva, mi ha fatto riflettere molto -finalmente, direte voi-.

Festa Della Musica - Music&Street

You all know that there was summer solstice this week.
Here, in Torino, we celebrated it with a Music Fest in the Quadrilatero Romano (one of the best neighborhood for the night life).

come voi tutti sapete questa settimana c'è stato il solstizio d'estate.

Qui, a Torino, abbiamo festeggiato  l'evento con una Festa Della Musica nel Quadrilatero Romano (uno dei migliori quartieri per quanto riguarda la vita notturna).

'All In' For Bob

Tuesday night Bob Sinclar, aka Christophe Le Friant, came to Torino to begin his tour "Disco Crash" at Palaisozaki. I still don't know how many people participated but as you can see it from the video below it was mind-blowing crowded. I really appreciated the underage drinking bracelet to control alcohol consumption.

Martedì sera Bob Sinclar, alias Christophe Le Friant, è arrivato a Torino da dove ha cominciato il suo tour "Disco Crash" presso il Palaisozaki. Non so ancora con certezza quante persone abbiano partecipato ma come potete vedere da video sotto era straordinariamente affollato. Ho molto apprezzato il braccialetto diverso  per chi poteva comprare bevande alcoliche e chi no, per controllare il consumo di alcol tra i giovanissimi.

Fashion & Magic: Talents Night

Hello Party-people!
Friday I joined another event at FSRR: 'Fashion & Magic, Talents Night'.
It was charming, artful and inspiring.
Many designers showed their outfits on the runway, made inside the hall of MORENO PER SPAZIO (Foundation café).
Musicians, dancers, mannequins, designers and photographers collaborated to make Friday night special. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant.

Venerdì sera ho partecipato ad un altro evento organizzato presso la FSRR: 

'Moda & Magia, la Notte dei Talenti'.

Era  intrigante, pieno di talenti ed esaltante.

Molti stilisti hanno presentato i propri modelli sulla passerella, creata all'interno del corridoio principale di MORENO PER SPAZIO (bar interno della Fondazione).

Musicisti, ballerine, modelle, stilisti e fotografi hanno collaborato alla creazione di un venerdì sera molto speciale. L'atmosfera era calda e piacevole.

FSRR Thursday Night

Hello everybody! 
The weekend is gone, the parties are over, during Sunday you recovered from your weekend efforts but you are probably not ready for the week to begin. 
There's no need to despair, in these couple of days you can already schedule your weekend plans and smile about it!
Thursday was the International Women's Day. 
Almost every year I forget about it and a boy remembers me (usually in the morning) that there's need to celebrate. Here, I can open a debate: some girls (or women) want to party and to make some noise, some others don't like at all this day and few others just take it as it is: a celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women. 
On March 8th I often think how much women did in the past to guarantee my freedom and my independence now and how many girls and women are still living in painful and cruel situation due to their gender.
Pure curiosity:
1.The first National Women's Day was observed on 28 February 1909 in the USA
2.It isn't only the celebration of women's rights it is also of world peace
3.In the 2011 it was the 100th anniversary and Australia issued a commemorative coin
4.In the whole world it is customary for men to give flowers and small gifts

Let's talk about the event of the week now. It was already a couple of weeks that my friends and I we were talking about going to the APERICENA at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, a project of 10XPrinceLAB, and we decided that March 8 was the perfect day!

What's APERICENA?

For those of you who are not Italian Apericena may seem a funny word. It only is something more that an aperitif and a bit less than a dinner. You grab food by yourself from the main tables and you eat while standing or sitting around not set tables. It doesn't happen in restaurants but cocktail bars or unusual places. Like this time.

FSRR is a foundation born thanks to Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in 1995. Her goal was, and still is, to enlarge the knowledge of international trends in Contemporary Art. Here it comes the idea of 10XPrinceLAB. They want to approach young people to art in a smart way, in an unusual way: dress up, drink and eat, laugh with your friends and visit the exhibit!
There was a lot of food, in quantity as much as variety, and the drinks were perfect. I really enjoyed the pizza that was yummy. The people were all well dressed and the age group was very wide (I'd say from university students to forty/fifty-year-old people); this is a good sign because if art touches more people the goal may be easily reached.
The location is awesome (I'm biased I love art and museums) and also the exhibit is interesting but I didn't like several things: there wasn't enough space to sit down for everybody (few uncomfortable big pillows on the ground), the hall and the main table were very crowded, the music was great but it was definitely too loud. On the other hand, the external side of the building is majestic and the photographers are very talented. I published here a picture of mine made by Marcello Cassano. 

In few weeks, when it will get warmer, this apericena will be the perfect place to stay with friends while listening some good music and taking a look to some good pieces of art.

The "Turinist" 

On Monday we are always sad. We have to go working/studying and the weekend seems so far away, so why don't think about travels or foreign countries where we would like to go by reading trips or tours taken in different places or odd news coming from the rest of the world?

On Wednesday we are in the linchpin of the week. We have stuff to do, business to arrange, events to join and people to see. We are charging up for the weekend and that's why we are more friendly and snoopy. 

On this special day I prepared for you three sections: the first one (Bright People Room) is about people I already know or I might encounter who are smart and brilliant; the second one (Hip To Be Square) talks about trends or society, something that used to be uncool and now it's awesome or it's going to be very popular soon; the last one is about music (Going Wild With Music), this is a very important section to me because I can share with you a song I listened lately, a concert I joined or something related to the music universe.

On the weekend we spend day and night being wild and thoughtless. We usually don't have specific plans and we just want to have fun! That's why I thought about all of you revelers and I dedicated this day to you! 

For what concerns the topic "Event of the week" I may talk about: a specific event happened during the week, a club/wine-cocktail bar/restaurant that impressed me for some reason, a personal occurrence. 

The "Turinist" is a new word that I coined blending together two words: TURIN + TOURIST. My purpose is to describe something about Torino (as museums, streets, places, fairs, exhibitions, etc.) to give the chance to the people who don't know it to discover how much Torino is beautiful.
